Mankind has been fascinated with decorated human skulls throughout the ages and across many cultures. Although we consider ourselves as having culturally evolved away from these supposed savage and ritualistic attitudes the manufacture and sale of decorated skulls is still very much prevalent.
You may be aware of Damien Hirst and his latest masterpiece ‘For the Love of God’ which is a diamond encrusted Skull cast in platinum from a real human skull, with an estimated value of £50,000,000.
Hirst gained his inspiration for the piece at The British Museum, viewing a turquoise skull of Aztec origin.
Design Clinic skulls are also inspired by ancient cultures such as the Celts and the Aztecs, and they reflect how this powerful image is interpreted in the 21st century. All the skulls in our range are based on a casting of a real human skull and are therefore perfectly proportioned and anatomically correct.
If you can’t afford to spend £50,000,000 on a diamond encrusted skull, why not try a more affordable option and buy one of Design Clinics Skulls! |
