Traditional Celtic decoration was used by its original creators to adorn the objects around them. Rare and beautiful artifacts in museums around the world include swords, jewellery, books, bowls, textiles and all manner of decorated household items which pay tribute to the skill and artistry of the time. It is the principal of applying these ancient decorative techniques to modern objects such as clocks and bookends and drawing on more diverse cultural references which makes our Celtic range so special.

EDHEN CLOCK £42.52 (£49.96 inc VAT)
Cold cast bronze
"This piece was made in 2002 to complement the Gaelic clock which I made six years before. I wanted a similar highly decorated surface but on a lighter, more elegant form. The interlacing Celtic designs follow the bird theme, hence the name Edhen (meaning bird). The two birds either side of the clock-face have been adapted from figures from the Book of Kells and worked into the shape of the clock. The other patterns are from various Celtic and Viking sources or are my own designs."
