"Derived from the Styliner clock which was loosely based on the dashboard of my 1957 Oldsmobile. I had been thinking of making a second generation of the Techno Clock which I made in 1995 and I thought that the Styliner shape was a good basis from which to start. I cast up a plaster Styliner and got out my chisels. I wanted a clock which looked elegant and mechanical and I didn't have much more of an idea than that. Quite a lot of my work is done like this I start and the design evolves as I go along. When I got the tensile skeletal look which I wanted, I started drawing all over it. I wanted it to contain some of the elements of the techno clock so that there would be a continuation between the two designs. As it was becoming more bio-mechanical in its looks, the name Timenator was coined and I leaned towards a carapace type quality for the main casing to contrast with the leafspring structure of the legs.It remains one of my favourite clocks and one of the most enjoyable to make."Seamus Moran.

  MITOSIS CLOCK
“This was the follow-on from the Timenator clock and is based on the idea of mitosis (cell division). I created a shape which looks like it is trying to pull itself apart, stretching and getting thinner in the centre. The surface is a mixture of sensuous curves and reptile skin with metal spikes thrown in for good measure. The chrome detail on the face is the liquid like nucleus of this scaly time-cell” Seamus Moran
This clock is free-standing or wall hanging and is available in gunmetal finish with a purple, blue or green face.
